Tom Morello is returning with what he describes as his first full-length solo rock album under his own name. The Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave guitarist announced that Everyone Gets Everything They Want will be released Sept. 25 through Mom + Pop Music, marking his first solo album since the 2021 Atlas Underground projects and a return to riff-driven hard rock infused with his trademark political themes.
The 10-track album is led by the newly released single “Date Night,” a song Morello said was inspired by the true story of three Dutch teenagers who joined the resistance against Nazi occupation during World War II. He has described the track as both a love song and an anti-fascist statement. The record also features appearances from System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian, Irish hip-hop group Kneecap and rock band Beartooth, while Morello’s 15-year-old son, Roman Morello, co-wrote five songs and contributed guitar throughout the project. Production duties were shared by Tyler Smyth, Carl Restivo, Zakk Cervini, Dan Carey and Sam Nelson Harris.
Morello has said the album combines the heavy guitar work associated with Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave with the storytelling influences of artists including Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Roger Waters. He has characterized the project as an effort to create a modern rock record that delivers both musical intensity and socially conscious songwriting, continuing the activist spirit that has defined much of his career.
In support of the release, Morello has announced North American tour dates this fall, followed by Canadian performances in March 2027. He is also set to headline the inaugural Power to the People Festival, scheduled for Oct. 3, where he will be joined by a lineup that includes Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Joan Baez, Public Enemy and other artists.
