A group of iconic Southern California punk rock acts are uniting for a special benefit performance to assist T.S.O.L. bassist Mike Roche as he faces serious health challenges. Heavyweights including The Offspring, Pennywise, Circle Jerks, Adolescents, and Guttermouth will headline the concert, scheduled for Nov. 7, 2026, at the Garden Amphitheatre in Garden Grove, California. Proceeds from the benefit are earmarked to help cover ongoing medical costs.
The charitable event aims to support the veteran musician following his diagnoses of Parkinson’s disease and dementia, which were publicly disclosed by his partner, Tracy Vaughan. A founding member of T.S.O.L. since the band formed in 1978, Roche played an influential role in shaping the region’s hardcore punk and deathrock movements. Organizers and fellow performers hope the concert will lighten the financial load caused by his long-term care needs.
Musicians across the genre have expressed deep respect for Roche’s lasting legacy and contributions to the West Coast music scene. Reflecting on the bassist’s influence, Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge stated, “Mike Roche is basically the reason I’m playing in a punk band”. The Offspring guitarist Noodles echoed those sentiments, noting, “Without T.S.O.L. there would be no Offspring. Mike Roche’s bass playing is a huge part of the reason why. His style is just so badass and cool. Over the years, we went from fans of his to friends. So when we heard he needed our help, we jumped at the chance to pitch in. A lot of people from the punk scene felt the same way, and this benefit concert was put together. It’s gonna be an amazing show, with a bunch of incredible bands, and it’s gonna help out an old friend. Let’s f#ckin’ go!”
In tandem with the live event, community members have organized an online fundraising campaign via GoFundMe to collect additional assistance. The effort has already raised tens of thousands of dollars from fans, friends, and peers throughout the alternative music community. The collective response highlights the strong bonds within Southern California’s punk community during times of hardship.
