Nickelback will release its 11th studio album, Everything Under the Sun, on Oct. 30 through Virgin Music Group, marking the Canadian rock band’s first full-length release since 2022’s Get Rollin’. Alongside the announcement, the group debuted the album’s lead single, “Rattle The Cage,” featuring guitarist John 5, offering fans an early preview of the band’s latest musical direction.
Frontman Chad Kroeger said the new record reflects the full range of Nickelback’s sound, describing it as an album that balances the band’s signature hard-hitting rock with more adventurous material and melodic moments. He added, “This album has every side of the band on it. There are songs that hit as hard as anything we’ve ever done, songs that take chances, and songs that remind us why we’ve been doing this together for so long.” Kroeger also called “Rattle The Cage” the ideal introduction to the project, saying, “‘Rattle The Cage’ felt like the perfect way to kick the door open. It has the energy we’ve been feeding off every night on stage, and we can’t wait for people to hear it.”
The 12-track collection includes “Bones For The Crows,” a song originally created for the 2023 video game Dungeon Hunter 6, along with new titles including “I Already Know,” “Chasin’ Famous,” “Lift Somebody Up” and “Last Night Was Fun.” The collaboration with John 5 on “Rattle The Cage” signals one of the album’s heavier moments, while the overall track list is intended to showcase the band’s stylistic diversity.
The new album news arrives during a period of renewed momentum for Nickelback following the success of its documentary Hate to Love: Nickelback and the band’s Get Rollin’ world tour, which became the fastest-selling and highest-attended tour of their career.
