Sir Rod Stewart has canceled the remaining dates of his “One Last Time” farewell tour after undergoing a successful coronary stent procedure, his representatives confirmed Wednesday. The 81-year-old singer had recently postponed performances in Cincinnati and Cleveland before announcing that doctors had advised him to take four weeks away from performing while he recovers. Promoters and venues are expected to provide ticket holders with details regarding refunds and other arrangements for the affected performances.
A statement from Stewart’s representatives said he is recovering well and has returned to normal daily activities. Stewart also addressed fans directly, saying, “I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend.” He added, “I’m deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon.”
Stewart’s canceled schedule includes shows across North America and Mexico, as well as a six-date residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. He had been scheduled to continue touring into September. The latest cancellations follow several health-related disruptions during Stewart’s current touring run. He previously called off dates earlier this year, and the singer also paused a Utah performance in June after nearly fainting and requiring supplemental oxygen. His Aug. 9 concert in Ohio was canceled shortly before the scheduled performance.
The Grammy-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee launched the “One Last Time” farewell tour in 2024. Known for such enduring hits as “Maggie May” and “Tonight’s the Night,” Stewart has continued performing extensively despite the recent interruptions. His representatives have not announced a new timetable for his return to the stage beyond the recommended four-week recovery period.
