Hollywood Vampires have shared a live video for their explosive rendition of Motörhead’s classic “Ace of Spades,” offering fans another preview of the supergroup’s upcoming concert album, At Montreux Jazz Festival. The performance, captured during the band’s acclaimed 2018 appearance at Switzerland’s renowned Montreux Jazz Festival, serves as a tribute to the late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister and showcases the group’s high-energy stage chemistry.
The rock supergroup—featuring Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen—said the song remains one of rock music’s defining anthems, praising Lemmy’s enduring influence. “Lemmy was one of a kind,” the band said. “‘Ace Of Spades’ remains one of the defining songs in rock history, and this performance honors his legacy.” The newly released clip follows the earlier debut of “Raise The Dead,” the first preview from the forthcoming live collection.
At Montreux Jazz Festival documents the band’s full 2018 festival set, blending Hollywood Vampires originals with classic rock covers performed in tribute to many of the artists who inspired them. Alongside “Ace of Spades,” the track list includes performances of songs by The Who, Aerosmith, David Bowie and others, as well as staples from the band’s own catalog. The release marks the group’s latest live offering following 2023’s Live in Rio.
The album is scheduled for digital release on Aug. 7, followed by CD and vinyl editions on Oct. 16 through earMUSIC. Hollywood Vampires are also preparing for a European tour, with the Montreux release preserving a concert that has become a fan favorite for its celebration of rock history and the band’s lineup of Cooper, Depp, Perry and Henriksen.
