U2 have released the official music video for their new single, “Street of Dreams,” marking the first taste of the band’s forthcoming studio album, their first collection of new material since 2017’s Songs of Experience. Produced by Jacknife Lee, the track reunites Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr., whose return follows recent health-related setbacks, as the group builds toward a landmark year that includes the 50th anniversary of its formation later this year.
The video, filmed in Mexico City in May, captures the band performing atop a graffiti-covered school bus near Plaza Santo Domingo before severe thunderstorms forced production to halt after a generator failed. Rather than abandon the shoot, U2 accepted an invitation from a local family to continue filming from the balcony of their apartment, creating some of the video’s most memorable scenes. The band had also traveled to the city to attend the 2026 Street Child World Cup Finals, reflecting its long-standing support for the charity.
The energetic clip also highlights U2’s enduring connection with Mexican fans, blending large street performances with more intimate moments filmed after the unexpected weather disruption. Directed by the duo Cliqua, the video includes Bono interacting with the crowd and incorporating Spanish phrases as a tribute to the local audience. Earlier behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot had generated significant anticipation online after fans gathered to watch the band perform live during filming.
“Street of Dreams” launches the campaign for U2’s still-untitled next studio album, expected later this year. The release follows the band’s recent Days of Ash and Easter Lily EPs, which hinted at the musical direction of the new project. Fans have welcomed the arrival of fresh music, with many praising the song and expressing excitement for the full album as U2 enters its sixth decade together.
