The Rolling Stones have shared the video for their new song ‘In The Stars,’ taken off their upcoming studio album, Foreign Tongues, arriving July 10. The 14-track project follows the success of their Grammy-winning 2023 release, Hackney Diamonds.
The visual for ‘In The Stars,’ directed by Francois Rousselet, features actress Odessa A’zion alongside digitally de-aged versions of the Stones performing in a surreal house-party setting using deepfake technology. The young versions of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood perform the song alongside other musicians from various eras. A’zion said of working with the Rolling Stones, “Are you kidding me? It’s my dream. The first record that I ever got that I listened to from start to finish was Tattoo You. I’m obsessed with the Rolling Stones. This is in my bucket list for sure.”
Foreign Tongues came together quickly, recorded in under a month at London’s Metropolis Studios with producer Andrew Watt, who also collaborated with the band on Hackney Diamonds. The result is described as a “dynamic and forward-looking record that captures the band’s unmistakable sound while pushing into new sonic and lyrical territory, further cementing their unparalleled legacy.” The album also includes an impressive lineup of guest artists, including Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith, and Chad Smith; and features a contribution from late drummer Charlie Watts, drawn from one of his final recording sessions before his passing in 2021.
