The Pretty Reckless have shared the powerful title track “Dear God” from their upcoming fifth studio album, set for release on June 26. The song arrives as the latest preview of the band’s next era, following previously released tracks “For I Am Death,” “When I Wake Up,” and “Love Me.”
Frontwoman Taylor Momsen described the emotional weight behind the track, saying, “‘Dear God’ is desperation set to music. When life gets that physical, that brutal, you leave your body and start begging something bigger than yourself to pull you out. That space between heaven and hell isn’t a metaphor. It’s somewhere you actually live.”
The newly released song highlights Momsen’s striking vocal performance, and join earlier singles the band have released from the album that have already gained strong traction at rock radio — “For I Am Death” became the band’s eighth No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart, while “When I Wake Up” climbed into the Top 10 on the Mediabase Active Rock chart and also reached No. 16 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock ranking.
In support of the new album, The Pretty Reckless will launch the ‘Dear God Tour’ on July 10 in Raleigh, North Carolina, with stops planned in cities including New Orleans, Dallas, and Los Angeles before wrapping up on September 26 at Silver Spring, Marylan.
