Slayer expands ‘Reign in Blood’ 40th anniversary celebration with Latin American tour dates

Slayer has announced a five-date Latin American run celebrating the 40th anniversary of its landmark 1986 album Reign in Blood, with the band set to perform the record in its entirety at each stop. The newly unveiled dates mark the thrash metal veterans’ most extensive stretch of performances since returning to the stage in 2024 after previously ending their farewell tour in 2019. Slayer’s current lineup features vocalist and bassist Tom Araya, guitarists Kerry King and Gary Holt, and drummer Paul Bostaph.

The tour begins Oct. 21 in Mexico City at Palacio de los Deportes, where Texas crossover thrash outfit Power Trip will provide support. The remaining shows will feature German thrash pioneers Kreator alongside regional opening acts: Ultra Legends in Bogotá on Dec. 5, Avernal in Santiago on Dec. 10, Criminal in Buenos Aires on Dec. 14, and Korzus in São Paulo on Dec. 17.

The announcement extends Slayer’s broader Reign in Blood anniversary campaign, which was unveiled earlier this year. The band previously confirmed special U.S. headline performances in Shakopee, Minnesota, on Sept. 4 and at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on Nov. 13. Demand for the California date was strong enough to prompt the addition of a second Forum show on Nov. 14. Those concerts, along with the newly announced Latin American dates, are among the select appearances tied to the album’s 40th anniversary.

Released in October 1986 and produced by Rick Rubin, Reign in Blood is widely regarded as one of the defining albums in thrash metal. Featuring songs such as “Angel of Death” and “Raining Blood,” the record helped shape the direction of extreme metal and remains one of Slayer’s most influential releases.
