Roger Daltrey sets 2026 ‘A Great Night Out’ U.S. solo tour

Fresh off The Who’s final North American tour, Roger Daltrey has announced his A Great Night Out 2026 U.S. tour, a late-summer theater run that could mark the legendary singer’s last major solo outing.

The tour begins August 23 at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona, and continues through September with performances at theaters, casinos, and performing arts venues across the country including stops in Santa Barbara, Saratoga, Santa Rosa, Reno, Nashville, Milwaukee, Washington, D.C., and Port Chester, NY.  Highlights include a three-night stand at the Encore Theatre at Wynn Las Vegas, a rare appearance at New York City’s The Town Hall on September 27, and a closing show at Chevalier Theatre in Medford, Massachusetts, on September 29.

Daltrey will once again perform with the nine-piece band that backed him on his acclaimed 2024 tour, featuring Simon Townshend, Billy Nicholls, Jody Linscott, Doug Boyle, John Hogg, Katie Jacoby, Steve Weston, Geraint Watkins, and Scott Devours. The shows are expected to blend solo favorites, reworked cover songs, and lesser-played material from The Who’s catalog, all delivered in a more intimate format centered on storytelling, stripped-down arrangements, and Daltrey’s unmistakable voice.

In a statement announcing the trek, Daltrey suggested his days as a solo touring artist may be winding down: “Well it’s one more for the road. After finishing The Who’s final tour of the US, it’s time for me as a solo artist to possibly do the same. After touring solo with different bands of musicians for the last 17 years, a less grueling life becomes more attractive, I’ll see. With my present line up of nine musicians, I have this opportunity to see your beautiful country and enjoy the hospitality you have shown me over so many years. I’ll be off the backing tracks and always searching for different soundscapes to present the songs. It’s a lot of fun and gives me the chance to have a Great Night Out.”
