Metallica’s charitable foundation, All Within My Hands, has pledged $100,000 to support emergency relief efforts in Venezuela following a pair of intense earthquakes that hit the country on June 24. The philanthropic foundation is channeling the funding through its long-standing partner Direct Relief, who is working alongside municipal and regional bureaus to coordinate and deploy critical medical supplies and basic healthcare assets to hard-hit municipalities.
Venezuela was struck by sequential 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude seismic events occurring just 39 seconds apart, marking the most intense seismic activity recorded in the country in over a century. Official reports confirm that the death toll has exceeded 2,000 individuals, with thousands more suffering acute physical injuries. The United Nations estimates that up to 6.8 million residents could feel the impact of the disaster, which has caused severe damage to critical public infrastructure, triggered extensive power grid failures, and disrupted regional water distribution networks.
The donation reflects All Within My Hands’ ongoing mission of responding quickly to humanitarian crises around the world. Since its launch in 2017, the foundation has contributed millions of dollars to disaster relief, workforce education and efforts to combat food insecurity, while frequently directing proceeds from Metallica’s tours and fan-supported initiatives toward emergency response programs. The donation to the Venezuelan recovery efforts reflects the foundation’s established model of utilizing financial resources generated during the band’s global concert tours to support severe emergency relief campaigns.
Metallica is currently continuing its global M72 World Tour, with proceeds from ticket sales helping fund All Within My Hands‘ charitable work.
