Greta Van Fleet has continued its long-awaited return with the release of its new single, “Saw You Stand,” while officially unveiling plans for its fourth studio album, Palace for the People, due Oct. 9. The track follows their previously-released comeback single, “Play Your Games,” marking the second preview of the Grammy-winning rock band’s first full-length project since 2023’s Starcatcher.
The Michigan-born quartet has been steadily reintroducing itself after a brief hiatus that fueled online speculation about its future earlier this year. Those rumors were quickly put to rest when the band confirmed it had returned to the studio and later surprised fans with an intimate performance at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, where it debuted new material. The momentum continues with the arrival of “Saw You Stand,” which further showcases the group’s evolving sound while serving as another glimpse into Palace for the People.
To celebrate the single’s release, Greta Van Fleet also performed a rare club show at Chicago’s iconic Metro on July 31. The intimate concert follows the sold-out Bowery Ballroom appearance and offers fans another chance to experience the band in a smaller venue before it returns to larger stages. Frontman Josh Kiszka previously reflected on the band’s comeback, saying, “To take the stage again and share new music feels profoundly emotional and exciting. To see people singing and celebrating in this moment is a reminder of the power of music, and there’s so much more to come.”
