Bush reimagines “Swallowed” with a stripped-down, choir-backed take

Bush has unveiled a newly reworked version of “Swallowed,” offering a more intimate interpretation of the song that first appeared on their 1996 album Razorblade Suitcase.

Long embraced by fans as a defining track, the song has evolved over years of live performances, and this latest rendition reflects that journey with a softer, more reflective tone. The addition of a choral arrangement brings a deeper emotional resonance to the familiar melody.

Frontman Gavin Rossdale explained the creative direction behind the update, saying, “There’s something about stripping a song all the way back to its DNA, the melody has all the power. I wanted ‘Swallowed’ to feel like a hymn.”

The release arrives as the band continues to promote their newest record, I Beat Loneliness. They just wrapped up traveling across North America on their Land of Milk and Honey Tour, with the group planning to head to Europe before continuing on to Australia later in the year.
