‘America’s Block Party’ to feature headliners Chris Stapleton, Smashing Pumpkins at July 4 benefit show

Chris Stapleton and The Smashing Pumpkins will headline ‘America’s Block Party,’ a major Independence Day concert at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on July 4, part of the nationwide observance of the United States’ 250th anniversary. Organizers announced that actor and musician Queen Latifah will host the event, with additional performers expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The concert, organized by the congressionally chartered America250 initiative, is designed to serve as the centerpiece of a coast-to-coast celebration while launching “Giving 4th,” a campaign encouraging charitable donations and community service during the Independence Day holiday. According to organizers, ticket proceeds after fees will benefit Feeding America, while 5,000 complimentary tickets will be distributed to first responders, military veterans and active-duty service members.

A pre-show Block Party Village featuring music, food, beverages and giveaways will open before the evening concert, which will conclude with a fireworks and drone display. Fans unable to attend in person will be able to watch through a nationwide livestream and use the official America’s Block Party app to locate local celebrations and participate in charitable initiatives.

The Los Angeles event is one of several major gatherings tied to the semiquincentennial celebration. Additional official sites include Summerfest in Milwaukee, festivities in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Fort Campbell Festival in Kentucky. A July 3 broadcast event from New York’s One Times Square will help launch the national observance.
