Scott Weiland’s first-ever live album will receive a broader release this fall, giving fans access to concert recordings that previously appeared only in a limited Record Store Day vinyl edition. “Scott Weiland: Live” is scheduled for Oct. 23, with CD and digital editions arriving alongside a new limited-edition red vinyl pressing. The announcement comes with the release of “Interstate Love Song (Live)” and a visualizer featuring previously unseen footage from Weiland’s performances. Check it out: HERE.
The nine-track collection documents Weiland and his touring band during his 2009 tour supporting his second solo album, “Happy In Galoshes.” The recordings bring together songs from his solo career with material associated with Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver. The track list includes “Paralysis,” “Killing Me Sweetly,” “Vasoline,” “Do It For The Kids,” “Unglued,” “Blind Confusion,” “Interstate Love Song,” “Barbarella” and “Missing Cleveland.”
The album initially surfaced as a limited blue-vinyl Record Store Day release in April, featuring previously unreleased performances from the 2009 tour. That edition was limited to 2,000 copies in the United States, according to retailer listings, while the new release expands the project to CD, digital services and red vinyl.
Weiland, who died in 2015 at age 48, was the longtime vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots and also fronted Velvet Revolver while pursuing a solo career. “Scott Weiland: Live” arrives four days before what would have been his 59th birthday, offering another posthumous look at the singer during a pivotal period of his solo work.
