Collective Soul brings ’80s nostalgia to ‘Eye on You’ video

Collective Soul has released a new music video for “Eye On You,” a track from the band’s latest album, Touch and Go. The video arrived as the group continues promoting the 10-song record, which was released back on July 31 through Fuzze-Flex Records, with physical distribution by AMPED Distribution and digital distribution through Virgin Music Group.

The visual leans into the same retro sensibility that shaped Touch and Go, reflecting the band’s interest in The Cars and 1980s new wave. The album originally appeared as a Record Store Day release in the spring before receiving a broader rollout on digital platforms, CD and 180-gram teal-marble vinyl.

“Eye On You” is the second track on Touch and Go, which also includes “Rainbow,” “Uh Oh,” “All My Days On Thru,” “Heavy Load,” “Fun,” “Again,” “Feel,” “Shooting For You” and “Love Your Way.” The project represents a stylistic turn for the veteran rock band, with contemporary coverage noting its stronger new wave influence while retaining Collective Soul’s established melodies, harmonies and guitar-driven approach.

Collective Soul — Ed Roland, Dean Roland, Will Turpin, Jesse Triplett and Johnny Rabb — has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and recorded seven No. 1 singles, including “Shine,” “December” and “The World I Know.” The group remains on the road with North American dates scheduled through the fall.
