Candlebox has brought back a key piece of its original lineup for a new single. The Seattle rock band dropped “I Remember Everything,” marking the first Candlebox recording to feature founding guitarist Peter Klett alongside frontman Kevin Martin since 2012’s Love Stories & Other Musings. The song also represents the first new music featuring Klett since he returned to the group following a decade-long hiatus.
The independently released track was produced by Kemble Walters at Good Noise Studio and mastered by Jeremy Costa at Backward Clock Sound Studio. Martin said he was excited to have his longtime bandmate back, while Klett expressed enthusiasm about returning to the songwriting process with Candlebox. Klett was absent from the band’s 2023 album The Long Goodbye and its 2024 The Longer Goodbye (Tour Edition), making the new track the first opportunity for fans to hear the reunited creative partnership in the studio.
The reunion follows Klett’s return to the live lineup earlier this year. In July, it was reported that Klett had rejoined Candlebox after 10 years away, with Martin crediting his return with helping reinvigorate the band creatively. The guitarist had previously stepped in for four shows during Candlebox’s 2024 tour with Bush before reconnecting with Martin about making music together again.
“I Remember Everything” arrives as Candlebox hits the road with its 32-date Can’t Quit You North American tour. The trek kicked-off Sept. 17 at The Pageant in St. Louis and runs through Oct. 30 at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, with support from acts including Sponge, The Mountain Goats, The Verve Pipe, Sweet Water and American Blonde on select dates.
