Rock icons Rush are continuing their 50th anniversary celebration with the announcement of two new vinyl releases arriving this fall: a 50th anniversary edition of the landmark 1976 album 2112, and a newly packaged compilation, The Spirit of Radio: Greatest Hits 1974-1987. The reissues extend a multiyear archival campaign that has included deluxe box sets, remastered albums and the recent career-spanning ‘RUSH 50’ collection.
The new pressings are being issued on high-quality vinyl using updated mastering techniques and are part of a broader anniversary series that has included archival releases, collectible editions and retrospective projects honoring the band’s five decades of music. Originally released in 1977 and 1978, A Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres marked a creative peak for vocalist-bassist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson and late drummer-lyricist Neil Peart, producing enduring songs including “Closer to the Heart,” “Xanadu,” “The Trees” and “La Villa Strangiato.”
