Punk rock veterans Social Distortion have released the official music video for “Tonight,” a track from their latest album, Born To Kill. The video highlights one of the record’s more reflective songs with a cinematic story centered on love and longtime relationships.
Directed by John Swab, the video was filmed on location in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It features Johnny Angel Rios-Ness, the son of Social Distortion founder and frontman Mike Ness, in a storyline inspired by the song’s tribute to Ness’ wife of more than three decades, Christine. The visual pairs a fictional romance with performances from two generations of the Ness family.
“Tonight” appears on Born To Kill, Social Distortion’s eighth studio album, which arrived May 8 through Epitaph Records. The release marked the band’s first full-length album in 15 years and followed a lengthy production period that was delayed after Ness revealed his tonsil cancer diagnosis in 2023.
The new record continues Social Distortion’s blend of punk, rock and roots influences, with “Tonight” standing out as a slower, emotionally driven track. The band has also been on the road in support of the album, with North American dates planned through the fall.
