2026 CBGB Festival to feature headliners Morrissey, Patti Smith & Interpol

The legendary punk institution CBGB confirmed that Morrissey, Patti Smith, and Interpol will headline the 2026 CBGB Festival. Produced in partnership with the promotion company The Bowery Presents, the single-day event will bring together veteran alternative artists and contemporary rock acts to honor the legacy of Manhattan’s historic 1970s counterculture movement. The upcoming concert marks the third installment of the festival since its modern revival in 2025.

The 2026 CBGB Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Under the K Bridge Park, an outdoor event venue situated beneath the Kosciuszko Bridge in Brooklyn, New York. Beyond the top-billed headliners, the festival has curated a dense lineup of formative punk icons and modern genre standard-bearers. Notable heritage acts scheduled to take the stage include Bikini Kill, Agnostic Front, the Buzzcocks, and the Circle Jerks. Additionally, the Sex Pistols are scheduled to perform with lineup members Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock joined by guest vocalist Frank Carter, following a cancellation at the previous year’s event due to a wrist injury sustained by Jones.

A variety of specialty projects and contemporary acts round out the performance schedule. Comedian Fred Armisen will join Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney for a specialized Ramones tribute performance billed under the project name The Return of Jackie and Judy. Attendees will also see sets from newer independent and hardcore outfits, including Mannequin Pussy, Militarie Gun, Bad Nerves, Upchuck, High Vis, Haywire, Panic Shack, and Violet Grohl.
