Greta Van Fleet’s upcoming intimate Chicago performance has sold out shortly after tickets became available, demonstrating the continued demand for the Grammy-winning rock band as it prepares for another rare club appearance. Greta Van Fleet — featuring brothers Josh, Jake and Sam Kiszka along with drummer Danny Wagner — has built a global following with its blend of classic rock influences, powerful vocals and energetic live shows.
The group will perform at Chicago’s Metro on July 31 as part of an official Lollapalooza aftershow, marking another small-venue event for a band more accustomed to arenas and major festivals. The Metro concert follows Greta Van Fleet’s recent return to the stage with a similarly scaled-down performance at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom. That surprise underplay, held in May, marked the band’s first live appearance in nearly two years and sold out the 575-capacity venue, where the group debuted new material including “Play Your Games.”
For the Chicago show, fans quickly rushed to secure tickets for the 1,100-capacity venue, with many reporting that seats disappeared almost immediately after going on sale. The Metro performance is scheduled for the same day the band releases its new single “Saw You Stand,” following “Play Your Games,” which introduced the group’s latest creative direction after their 2023 album “Starcatcher.”
