Shania Twain teams with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme on ‘Faded Blue Jeans

Shania Twain has released her latest single, “Faded Blue Jeans,” a collaboration with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme that serves as the newest preview of her upcoming studio album, Little Miss Twain. The song follows previously released tracks including “Dirty Rosie” and “Little Miss Twain” featuring Tanya Tucker, dropping ahead of the album’s July 24 release.

The ‘Faded Blue Jeans’ duet continues Twain’s exploration of the musical influences that shaped her early years. In discussing Little Miss Twain, the five-time Grammy winner has said the record reflects her teenage experiences and blends country with the rock and R&B music she grew up loving while remaining rooted in her Canadian upbringing. The 15-track project also includes collaborations with The War and Treaty, underscoring the album’s wide-ranging musical approach.

A press release describes ‘Faded Blue Jeans‘ as ‘a nostalgic, guitar-driven anthem with a rebellious rock-and-blues spirit, ‘Faded Blue Jeans‘ was written solely by Twain and captures the intensity of first love and teenage defiance. Inspired by one of Twain‘s own teenage relationships, the song reflects on the unwavering belief that young love could last forever. Driven by gritty production and infectious energy, it channels the rebellious rock and blues that shaped Twain‘s youth while celebrating the freedom, confidence, and emotion of growing up. Homme’s unmistakable vocals bring a raw edge to the track, offering another glimpse into Little Miss Twain, an album that finds the legendary songwriter reflecting on the people, places, and experiences that defined her earliest years.’
